About Bisheng: Our Story
The Vision: Change through Heritage
Bisheng Corporation was founded in California in 2024 by Bin He, a composer, conductor, and educator who has spent his life performing traditional Chinese instruments. We believe that for a tradition to remain vibrant, it must be allowed to evolve. By harmonizing centuries of cultural memory with contemporary design, we are redefining the ancient instruments such as erhu, pipa, guzheng - honoring their historical essence while expanding their expressive potential for today’s concert halls and recording studios.
The Connection: Innovation for Everyone
We bridge the gap between East and West. We use tools like acoustic analysis and digital modeling to refine resonance and durability, replacing fragile or scarce materials with sustainable alternatives like carbon fiber and eco-friendly polymers. These changes aren't just technical - they are personal. As a music master, an educator who has taught countless students, and a conductor of two orchestras, Bin He designed these instruments to solve everyday frustrations, adding ergonomic updates and modern features to transform possibilities for the next generation of global musicians.
SOUTH COAST CHINESE ORCHESTRA
Founded by the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center in Southern California, the orchestra brings together musicians of all backgrounds and ages, creating a diverse, multi-generational community united by a shared passion for music and cultural storytelling. Its performances reflect a commitment to both preserving and reimagining Chinese musical traditions for contemporary audiences.
STRING AND BAMBOO
Founded in Los Angeles in 2002, String and Bamboo Music has been at the forefront of Chinese musical education and innovation for over two decades. Through dedicated teaching and performance, they've cultivated a community of talented musicians while creating original compositions that range from classical Chinese masterpieces to contemporary pop and film scores. Their approach gives students a rich, cross-cultural musical education that honors tradition while embracing modern creativity.
